Master heat pumps with on-site support.
Transitioning to renewables is a big shift. Join our free pilot in Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire to bridge the gap between training and your first live installs. Get paired with an experienced pro to build your confidence and get the job done right
1. Submit application
Use the form above to detail your experience and what you hope to gain from mentoring. Our team will review applications to create the best matches. Places are limited for this pilot, but we'll be in touch with all applicants.
2. Discuss the Program
Expect a call back in February for an informal conversation to review your application and answer your questions.
3. Final Confirmation
Sign the participant agreement to formally join the peer mentoring network. Following this, we will connect you with a mentor or mentee that matches your interests and skills.
4. Attend our onboarding session
As part of the pilot, you'll be invited to an in-person welcome session in early March (Manchester or Leeds). This is your chance to meet your partner, understand what to expect from the pilot, and ask any questions.
5. First job: mentor's installation
You'll arrange to meet at one of the mentor's jobs. Mentees will shadow the mentor at work, observing and learning on-site. Depending on your interests and the job requirements, you might spend an afternoon together (for example, surveying the property or decommissioning an old boiler) or a full day commissioning a heat pump.
6. Second job: mentee's installation
The mentee will find a customer looking to install a heat pump and lead the design and installation themselves. The mentor will provide support as needed, for example feedback over a phone call, advice on specific technical challenges, or joining in person for key stages like the handover.
7. Feedback on your experience
At the end of the pilot, we'll speak with you about your experience. As installers working in the field day-to-day, you'll know best what worked well and what could be improved. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping how we develop and scale this programme to support more installers across the UK.
