This programme is run and delivered by Nesta and Green Economy, with the support of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
Nesta is the UK's not-for-profit innovation agency for social good. It designs, tests and scales new solutions to society’s biggest problems, changing millions of lives for the better. As one of its main missions, Nesta works to accelerate the decarbonisation of household activities in the UK. Our goal is that, by 2030, the UK will have reduced household carbon emissions by 28 per cent compared to 2019 levels, and that we are on track to reach net zero by 2048.
Green Economy is the evolution of decades of experience working with businesses to decarbonise whilst helping local businesses seize the opportunities that the net zero transition presents. This transition represents a significant market opportunity for our economy with the whole of the supply chain set to benefit.
MCS, or the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, is a quality assurance scheme that certifies low-carbon products and installations used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources. It aims to ensure the quality and reliability of renewable energy technologies, supporting the UK's transition to a low-carbon economy.
